Cutting Edge!!!
Just heard the author speak at the Jungian center last week and bought his book. Am loving it. The first thing it does is gives permission for Men to NOT live on Mars and Women to NOT live on Venus! These stereotypes that have dominated couples and relationship "experts" over the past 10 years have been a major step backward to helping men and women see each other clearly.
As the author states, both and men and women embody the lunar and solar. It's not either/or----- Rather it's BOTH!!!
And the extent to which both sexes can incorporate both the lunar and solar archetypes into their lives, they will be happier and more fulfilled in their relationships.
The problem is that our culture wants "MEN TO BE MEN AND WOMEN TO BE WOMEN," WHEN OBVIOUSLY THIS IS NOT WORKING. No one is happy with these polarities!
We can only understand the "opposite" sex when we realize they are NOT OPPOSITE!. Rather, they are a reflection of ourselves -- becoming balanced and actuating both the Lunar and the Solar will be the key to not only resolving relationship conflicts, but to end world strife.
This work is ground-breaking!!!

Incredible. I often refer back to it when I have trouble balancing the two. It isn't as in depth as I though it'd be, but still a great read.
This rambling diatribe of a book would have been a much more compelling 1000 word article. As it is, the author regurgitates many variations on the single theme via extended jaunts through the history of civilization. Certainly "Solar Light, Lunar Light" contains some nuggets worthy of reflection regarding the nature of human consciousness. Unfortunately, very few of these perspectives are coherent enough to add value to the collective conversation.
